Family Reunion

Well, I'm a little slow getting this picture posted, so prepare for a very long blog. ;) We went to Delta for the 4th and Tanner had so much fun at the parade! He loved the horses and the marching band. (Hey Dave, ya never know, maybe we will be going to band off's!) He couldn't quite get the concept of picking up the candy that was thrown. I would pick it up and put it in his bag and then Tanner would take it out of his bag and throw it at the floats. Thats what they were doing so why shouldn't he? Finally I talked his cousins into picking up the candy so I didn't have to bend over anymore. He was all wide eyed when it came to the fireworks later that night. He didn't move one inch untill they were finished, and that's saying alot for Tanner. While we were waiting for them to start, the sprinklers came on where we were sitting. He thought that was pretty funny. He had alot of fun.

We had a family reunion with Jim's family last weekend. We went to the lake and hung out alot. Tanner had so much fun with his cousins. I think the dirtier he was, the happier he was. I guess that's a typical boy for ya. He is giving us a 'cheese' smile in this one.

When we got to the lake, Tanner ran up to the water and put his feet in. I didn't think much of it and the next thing I knew he was up to his chest in water. So I guess he's not afraid of the water. He had alot of fun with his daddy. They went for a ride on the wave runner and Tanner was pretty mad when he had to get off. I pretty much just sat under the canopy and tried not to get skin cancer.

This is just a shot of the boys. It's pretty hard to get them all together at the same time, so we don't always get the best pictures. They all had so much fun and they got along so well. We all had a pretty good time, I was just happy that Tanner had some alternative entertainment. Next year we will at least have a girl in the middle of them all!

Tanner's Birthday

Tanner had an Elmo Birthday party and he had the best time! For those of you who don't know, Tanner LOVES Elmo so it was easy to decide what to do for him. He had some of his cousins over and they had alot of fun. Tanner didn't really know why everyone was there but it was a party so he didn't care. They played Pin the nose on Elmo and we had an Elmo pinata and they all had fun beating that with a bat. Jim ended up beheading Elmo and then Tanner carried it around for a while. When it came time to blow out the candles, Tanner knew exactly what to do and blew them right out. We've been working on blowing on our hot food, so Tanner was prepared. He is a smart little kid. He still didn't quite get the present concept. We had to keep showing him that there were things inside the packages. I guess it has been awhile since Chirstmas.

Tanner needed a little help with the bat since it was bigger than him. He took the first turn and then had a freak out because he didn't want to give anyone else a turn. But it all worked out. It was funny to watch the kids try to hit it. We had to hide the bat afterward so Tanner would stop swinging it at random things, like me and his cousins, just to name a few. I wondered if that would give him any ideas.

Finally Jim whacked it good and the candy went flying! All of the kids went for all the candy on the ground except for Tanner. He dug it out of the beheaded Elmo body. He knew where the good stuff was!

This is just his cake. I thought it turned out really cute. Better than I could do that's for sure. It was a fun day and Tanner had a blast. It should be better next year when he actually knows whats going on.

FINALLY!

For those who have not yet been informed, we will be having a GIRL! YEA! We are very excited (me a little more than Jim). Jim said it's just another excuse for me to go shopping, and I totally agree. It will be the first girl on Jim's side so I have a feeling she might get a little spoiled. Just for the record, I'm totally OK with that! Tanner still doesn't know why my belly is getting so big and why he can't fit on my lap the same. Won't he be surprised when we bring her home!
Speaking of Tanner, he had a B-Day on Tuesday but he didn't really care. He did have his first ice cream cone and loved it. Gotta love Dairy Queen (Sorry Suzy). We will be having a B-Day party for him on Saturday, so I will send pictures then.

More about Tanner

I needed to replace Tanner's diaper bag and while I was looking I saw this back-pack with Elmo and I thaught it would be perfect. I go to put it in the cart and Tanner says "Pack-pack on back", and then pats his back. So I put it on him and he wore it for the rest of our shopping trip. I had no idea he even knew what a "pack-pack" was, let alone where it goes. So now he wears it out to the car and then in to the babysitters house. Sometimes he gets mad at me because he can't wear it in his car seat. I'm so mean! But he loves his "pack-pack" so it was a good purchase.

Tanner is not one to just fall asleep anywhere, so when he fell asleep on the hard wood floor, I was pretty surprised. He was being pretty quiet so Jim decided to check on him and this is what he found. He loves playing in his bus and it must have worn him out this time. Silly kid.

PUPPIES!

Raja had puppies about two weeks ago. She had two and they are both fat and very healthy. Tanner can't get enough of the 'babies'. He always sneaks into the laundry room to hold them even though he knows he's not supposed to. He waits untill I'm not looking!
Tanner won't be very happy with us when we sell the puppies. He's already so attached!

We got a pool for Tanner because he was playing in the backyard and ended up with both feet and hands in the dogs water dish. So I thaught I better get something a little bigger to play in. You can't really see in this picture, but he refused to put his swimming suit on so he's naked! Another trate he got from his father.
On another note, Jim decided it was time for a new car with another baby coming. So we bought a Hoda Pilot. It's cute and we love it. And it's got room for eight so Jim can have all those kids he wants. I'm not sure where he's going to get them. I'll leave that up to him.

Zoo Trip

We were in Orem over the weekend and took a trip to the zoo with all of the boys. We had a great time. It was fun to have all of the boys together. They sure had fun playing with each other and it was fun to visit with all the big people (yes, I include myself in that category!). By the way, Tanner now says "cheese" everytime we take his picture, so that would account for the face he is making. Too cute!

You try getting all of them to stand still at the same time! It was very interesting! Pam might have a better one.

On a side note, I guess I should make it official. For those of you who don't already know, we are expecting another baby in November. So Suzy and John will have their hands full with three new grandbabies all about the same time! FUN! Too bad we all live so far apart. :(

Tanner, Tanner, Tanner

Hey Dave, are ya proud I figured out how to post pictures?! Well, Tanner got his second set of tubes on Wednesday. Thay also removed his adnoids hoping it would help eliminate the need for a third set of tubes. The recovery time for the tubes is about untill the anesthesia wears off. So by the time we got home, he was runnig around like his same old self. I could have used more of a break! The removal of his adnoids are bothering him a little, but still hasn't slowed him much. He is just a little whiney. But hopefully we will not have to do this again! When the hospital calls about the procedure, they say to bring something that will help comfort your child. Well, Tanner doesn't really have an stuffed animal that he loves, and I wasn't going to bring a ball for him to throw at me the whole time, so guess what he wanted? His hat! The kid hardley goes anywhere without it. He had it on untill they took him back, and it was back on as soon as he was out! I guess if thats comforting....

I made cookies the other day and shared them with Tanner and now he is hooked! He is always asking for a cookie only he says "tootie". He knows where we keep them on the counter so he got a stool, slid it over to the counter and clombed on up to help himself! We ran out of cookies so while I was at the store I thaught I would get some. As soon as we turned on the cookie aisle, Tanner yells out "TOOTIE". He loves thoose things. A boy after my own heart!
